The Opportunity
This is not a typical job. You will be the first hire at Fiscal Fitness, a growing boutique investment firm in Mumbai, working directly with the founder to build, systemise, and scale a business that manages nearly Rs 200 Cr in assets across a curated base of high-trust clients.
Fiscal Fitness was born from a personal conviction. Five years ago, I left a successful corporate career to build something more meaningful. What made that leap possible was clarity, over my goals and my investments. I realised that clarity was rare, and the people who needed it most, driven, high-achieving corporate professionals, were often the least served by an industry built on noise, products, and short-term thinking.
Fiscal Fitness exists to change that. I work with select senior corporate executives who have neither the time nor the appetite to second-guess their financial lives. My job is to make wealth simple, intentional, and quietly working in the background, so money is never a source of stress or doubt for them and their families. I want to be the trusted money guide they never had, one who simplifies the complexity of investing so they can focus on living a better life.
Success looks like a client who says, "My money worries are zero. Fiscal Fitness handles it." That sentence is my vision for Fiscal Fitness.
To build it, I am looking to slowly add a few members, but right now the focus is finding that rockstar employee number 1. There will be no large team to hide behind, and no playbook handed to you.
What there is: a founder who has built real client relationships and deep investment expertise, and a genuine mandate to build something lasting together, in a founder-led environment currently flexible but moving toward structured systems for the next level of growth. What will you be doing
Your responsibilities fall across three interconnected pillars. Year one will anchor heavily in Pillar 2 but all three will be live from day one.
Pillar 1 : Client Relationships
Own the client experience end-to-end. Manage onboarding workflows, coordinate review prep, respond to service requests promptly (via coordination with our service partner team at Happyness Factory), and be the operational backbone that ensures every client touchpoint is seamless.
Pillar 2 : Operations & Systems Building (PRIORITY)
Translate the founder's intellectual know-how into documented, repeatable systems. Build SOPs, process trackers, and workflow templates across investment operations, compliance, and client servicing. You are making sure the business runs even when the founder is not in the room.
Pillar 3 : Business Development & Growth
Support growth initiatives using digital tools, think specific projects like content webinars, CRM hygiene, client referral tracking etc. You are not expected to bring in clients, but you will help build the engine that does.
About you and the role
Your Background

At least 3 years of experience in wealth management, private banking, PMS/AIF operations, or a related financial services role. Career switchers are welcome if you come from a strong education background and have genuine drive to build in the wealth space. Willingness to learn and clear relevant NISM certifications

Comfortable working with apps and digital workflow tools, we already have a working back end system tie up in place for routine transaction and operations.

You communicate clearly and proactively. Clients and founder should never have to chase you. Communication that is clear, simple, and thoughtful

You are comfortable doing things that fall outside a neat job description. At an early-stage firm, there is no such thing as 'not my job'. You take initiative before being asked. You see a gap and fill it.

You are ambitious and you want to grow into ownership of this function with a team reporting to you.

High attention to detail and ownership mindset. I do look at small things like formatting and spelling and will be hands on till I get comfortable completely delegating things.

Whats on offer and how to apply
Location : Mumbai. Hybrid working arrangement. Normal work week with weekends off.
Compensation : Best in class. Fixed, based on experience + performance-linked annual bonus. No commissions
Reporting Line : Direct report to the Founder – you are the only hire at this stage. High impact from day one
Growth Path: Build toward a Head of Operations role with a small team in 2–3 years
